after a sumptious dinner at my good friend ts wae ming's under stated elegant pondok perched way up on a small hillock somewhere in taman melawati, ru, another old classmate of mine asked me cheekily to look into my 'crystal ball' at the future of local politics back home.
we by then were all high on nasi kerabu , laksa kelantan and an east coast delicacy called kueh akod that is guranteed to give one instant diabetes.....

 ru, a veteran oil man,  who hails from the back water of melur, kelantan, but now commute between his offices in paris and bangkok,  has been an ardent fan of thai politics lately. so impressed was he about the progress of development in land south of singgoro, he thought we malaysians , especially our politicians, should take a leaf or two from them.

 " nik howk, you should come over to singgoro....the thais , despite the brutal days of old during thaksin's time, has built a brand new large airport at narathiwat, even pilgrims can now fly to makkah even without setting foot to hadyai's international airport!
we back home, the kelantanese still need to fly to kl to do just that!...it is all about plying back the oil money  from the south back to the  south......we back home in kb still have dirty beaches and  crowded roads and zero wang ehsang petronas yet!....all going to your new home state,teganung....so rich that i heard from the grapevine the state  is going to build another brand new istana on pulau duyung,despite the recent new one  that cost 1.2 b of taxpayers money near chendering!...i hope this is just a rumour.....if this is a state project, certainly not good for the royalties at this point in time to be seen with excessive extravagance....state politician thinks only on a five year basis.....pea brain thinking", he opined.

 he is rocking the pakatan's boat by admitting the seven clowns from the old amenu including the one from jeli. ...shall we call them leaping frogs, though ibrahim ali is less complimentary recently in the cameroon highland bye election. he opined there is now no frogs in jeli , just jumping monkeys..'.beruk melompat '......i say monkeys here just to be civil and polite.!

 tdm thinks he can get more 'jumping monkeys'  to his side, but for the present , 7 is enough.  
the old man is playing his future moves close to his chest. he is a consumate chess player, i am sure you guys can agree with me on that...

 unlike what you guys think about doctors having all plans a, b and c, well scrutinized and thought off well ahead...actually a lot of our work involved ad hocking along the way, adjusting and adapting to the ongoing ball game and tempo of play. we as a specie, like to play god more than the rest!

 tun m is just doing that even though he has a general plan, he also ad hoc a lot and only when it is necesary.....the exquisite and exact timing of when to adhoc...that separates the master from the rest of the boys!.

 any evidence of an implosion occuring in pakatan from the joint partners, dap and pkr, will set things in motion. the old man is an expert at both controlled and organized implosion and uncontrolled,disorganized implosion. 

 his training starts way back in langkawi when you,  ts ming and ru  and myself, were still running around in our kain lamping........diapers was still unknown then!


i got words that one of the 'jumping monkeys' right now are even nursing an ambition to be the economics minister. he is already assuming the  present one will move one step up!..omg! that is presumptious of him.
but that is politics...but on the positive side, that reflect however his professionalism. the present economics minister is still not on the ball.....still fighting shadows.

 my contacts within the grapevine tell me yesterday this jumping monkey is trying to garner in some 'economic' brains to be in his think tank already! 
so very ambitious this 'jumping monkey'.....and so sure.

 down the scale we have dsai, the man who wanted to be pm even ages ago while in mckk.
i reckon if  an implosion within pakatan harapan does not happen as expected due to the dap wanting to stay in the cabinet at whatever cost, and we certainly cannot rule this out as they have been waiting for this opportunity to be on this side of governance for over 50 years!.
their marraige with pkr is just a marriage of convenience.
if this happened, our man  dsai here will be very much left in the cold!..
an implosion will happen in pkr itself, weakening it by half!

 the ultimate chess player has this consideration in his mind....remember you ask me to read minds.
he is also prepared for a totally disorganised implosion ie dap join force with pkr and go against him .

 he would go for the rest of the 'jumping monkeys' and at worst may even call on the ugama party with the headless chicken running it to join force!

 with azmin and his band of followers..... dap and whatever left of pkr can go and fly kites!

 here tdm will be  in slightly deep water, ru and ts ming.
will the rest of the jumping monkey from amenu join him?

 this is where the semenyeh factor comes in. 
this is a wee bit sakit perut for the old man.
bng may win semenyeh and will have a new found confidence.

clever bastards this digital robbers!.........

clever bastards these digital robbers!
they conned me of rm19,500.50 just now about an hour ago.
their timing was very exquisite.

i just came back from umrah a week ago. my brain still racked with virus, my body aching all over especially my back from too much tawaf, and i was just finishing my last patient at the clinic in sjmc when there was a ring and a voice saying he is from high court kuala terengganu

" what is the matter? i dont happened to querrel or hit anyone in terengganu as far as i could remember? "

" no sir, but you have a high court case tomorrow in kt, subponae number blah blah, you better write it down........blah blah blah. it is public bank versus nik isahak wan abdullah, you have a credit card non payment of rm 40, 500.50 etc etc etc "

" i have no credit card with public bank....."

" you better speak to our officer sir...", another 10 minutes with a malay speaking gentleman, who at the end of the conversation surmised that i could probably be victim of  a fraud.
omg! what a way to put oneself into confidence

he took my statement for the court and said he would ask for adjournment of the case tomorrow.
he told me he would transfer the call to pejabat kontinjen polis kt , and after some delay got thru to the specific department.

i gave my statement to an 'indian' asp this time over the phone.
after sometime she said this is above her head, i also need to give statement to her 'boss' acp dato tan.

"please adresss him appropriately sir as he is my boss, tuan, would be appropriate i think"

" dont worry asp, i will call him dato.."

"doctor we recently caught a chinaman, ong ka tim, we suspect is a drug dealer. your public bank book and credit card are one of the 40's we collect from his keeping.......blah blah for another 15 minutes......" we need all your banking details as this also involve checking with bank negara blah blah blah "

" i don't have my detail with me now, let me go home and you call me back"

after 1 hour of conversation these bastards already have me 'goreng'!

"for the next 3 days or so we and bank negara need to monitor your account closely, so we will be in contact with you every 4 hours.....i am giving you a number here and you need to change your banking hp for these period of monitoring say in half hours time.
we will you a sim card by fast mail, and after the operation you need to send back the pin card to the department..", acp 'dato' tan sounds very convincing.

lo and behold while having tea at home at 4 pm,, i told my indonesian maid about it all.

" noor, some drug peddler in terengganu has got all my ic detail and using it to open a bank account under my name...the police and bank negara are handling it now~!....bloody bastard these people!"

then i realize it could all have been a fraud! a robbery only possible in this age of digital banking!

" sorry doc....they have taken 19,500.50 rm from your acount. they leave you with 20 rm....just 20 minutes ago....do you want to make a police report? ", said the pleasant looking cimb officer, matter of factly.

" it is ok marm.......i will go and have tea tarik downstairs at the mamak shop with that  remaining 20. rm.....then i will forewarn all my friends. these bastards are so good and suave.
they 'goreng' me today. "

this is digital robbery.
i would not waste my last 2 rm for even a police report.
innallillah hiwainna ilai hirojiun.
my dear mrs will hang me for weeks on this one!
the clever , plausible robbers have their day today.
insya allah i will have mine in yaumiddin!

'what is not mine is not mine, even when it is already almost past the throat!'
mashallah!

i still have my life to whisper to allah, alhamdullillah!

when i told my sons , nadzru and johan about my misshap over a late dinner,
johan consoled me,
" it is ok dad.....you still have your life"

alhamdullillah!
the family umrah has not been for nothing.

the more i listen to shaykh dr haitham al haddad's discourse on talaq, the more i can appreciate the degree of difficulties these boys in jakim, mais , maik etc and etc are faced with. 

they are a favourite punch bag for most ladies and even men!
talaq is a last resort, but islam ,unlike catholicism and to some extent judaism, recognizes that  marriages are not made in heaven.
some marriages are bound to fail due to mismatch ete etc  and etc....thus allah give us the privelege of talaq.

in england of ole it is not uncommon for the lords and barons to cement their wives into the walls of their castles, or arrange for them to be killed or poisoned!
such barbarism which still exist today in different forms....

listen carefully to the shaykh

Talak is rapidly going out of date. It was 'useful' in backward and tribal societies where women are considered second class, and men bully and ill-treat their women. Talak came from a 6th Century desert tribal society. 

But today , with science and technology changing society and economic arrangements within it, talak surely faces an inevitable and well-deserved challenge from thinking minds.  With women well educated and able to work (many are accomplished professionals and earn high income (and pay tax) would talak not be exposed for its imbalance, unfairness to women, and its blatant misogyny? 

Surely it has no place in a 21st Century society - where  women are equal before the law, are well educated, and are respected by men.

there are some fat  cats there and here in KL.

 i mean let us start with people having  acombined household bank account above 500 million rm , and then percolate down slowly but surely to the lowly  saeregars and the fendi's.

 ....of course not forgetting the 1amgedebe ceo, nasikandaapakahnamadiadah, who should spend the rest of his life in jail.

 a very big jump from a 0.5 million rm per month numero uno, to room without a view at bamboo river resort.

 at my last research, the average occupancy in a malaysian jail is usually 5 to 6 to a room, and they sleep elbow to elbow.....toilet is jst a hole in the ground at the right hand corner.
when someone pee or b.o, the rest have to look the other way.

 we look forward to seeing him there.....6 to a room.
dsai was pretty lucky as he spent most of his time in the sick bay, akin to staying in a 25k rm a night presidential  suite at the st regis, sinapo!

sweep them carefully like a comb, tun.
we will forever doa for you both , dunia akhirat!

there may not be another zakir naik for decades!!!!

I have watched his videos. You are right - he does know his scriptures well, and can quote it in accurate detail. It attests to an understanding of the text, and an unusually good memory.

However, it is well to bear in mind that memory is only the capacity to retrieve information. It does not necessarily imply logic or contemporary good sense. 

I have listened to his answers to questions posed by his many admirers. The less l comment on his values and good sense (as l perceive them) the better.

You must acknowledge that many, many Muslims in this country, even leaders, idolise ZN, and swallow uncritically everything he says as their 'belief nutrition' . This is what l find unpalatable. Perhaps you too might agree. 

Nothing that another homo sapiens says can merit total acceptance and uncritical adulation. Nothing. Wars, genocides, bigotry, backwardness, and untold cruelties and bloodshed, are all created by such kinds of uncritical acceptance and lazy thinking.

Some have argued that the Peloponnesian wars (4th Century BC) had been earlier carefully examined and debated. Up to a point, yes. They were - but only by the Athenians, who were a highly civilised and intelligent community. (Socrates and Alcibiades were among the soldiers.) But their enemy, the Spartans were among the worst hooligans of the time. (They later formed the core of the army of Alexander the Great of Macedonia.) 

Since then, wars and bloodshed had always been created by unthinking mass belief and hysteria. Because thinking through war issues, one can always find solutions that lead to peace. This is something warmongers and bigots do not like to see.

there is a science in religion, known as 'science of  apolegetics', propounded by the christian missionaries many decades ago to brow beat the muslims

they already had beaten the muslims in africa and asia and dominated them  physically and financially,but intellectually they have to devise a science to brow beat them at the mental level as well....thus the science of apologetics....

until ahmad deedat arrived on the scene  and brow beat the best of their pastors and ministers.

now that we have dr zakir naik who has a background and capacity times 5 times more than  the late ahmad deedat, why do we socalled muslims want to apologise!!!!

 oftentimes with you dato, i wonder whether i am communicating  with a muslim or  with a non muslim.....😃😃😃😃. you dont seem to derive pleasure and comfort at all in being a muslim, i would have thought. everything about islam is negative.

 you are missing the elephant in the room.
the muslims are being bashed left right centre from time immemorial!
more so today.
you mention you want the syariah...your ulama get droned...your country get decalred a pariah state.....the security council pass a resolution banning all forms of trade with you etc etc etc.
they get even cnn, bbc and aljazera  to incarcerate you  years before to lay the foundation for their actions etc  etc and etc..

Hello doc,

It is strange that you should ask me to read about the Spanish lnquisition. Perhaps you do not know that l had spent four years at an ancient university studying Economics and Philosophy (and that included European history, including the Spanish lnquisition, and the backwardness and cruelties imposed by religion). 

As an undergraduate, I had also spent a whole summer in Spain, exercising my Spanish language, and visiting museums where l saw the actual instruments of torture used by the Catholic Church on scholars who used logic to think, or ask simple questions on the "teachings" of the Church. They sickened and horrified me to an extent you can never imagine. I discovered at that young age that reason and religion simply cannot co-exist. 

To quote to the well-known Nobel laureate in Physics, Steven Weinberg:

"Good men will do good things, and bad men will do bad things. But to do really, really bad things, you need religion."

By 'religion', one must also include beliefs and ideologies such as Communism, which has no room for honest enquiry and respect for logic and evidence.

hell or heaven, whatever it may be....it is certainly figurative beyond our comprehension, but certainly heaven and hell is not a metaphor.

 in your world it sounds pretty constrictive,definitely depressing  especially when we go beyond our 3 scores and ten!

 tell me dato how can i change your position?
really, i am sympathetic to your predicament.
