"Why do you expect things when you are already at His door ?"
Khidr, to a man who was in 'unanswered' supplication for years.
As the story went, a cynic passed by and asked the poor man how long he had been in that state. He answered, 'too many' years, I could not even recall'.
'Why bother when your supplication is not answered'.
The poor man went into a state of stupour and was in a state of shock at the incredulity of his situation and the straight thinking of the cynic. He fainted soon after.
He dreamed meeting Khidr who asked,
"Why do you expect things when you are already at His door ?"
Supplications, Zikir and Repentance.....
These are higher states of existence , beyond mere things !
